In 2009, Bluegrass PRIDE teamed up with Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government to work towards putting a stop to cigarette litter in Fayette County. PRIDE purchased plain outdoor ash containers and had local artists and school groups paint them to make them more noticeable. They were then given to more than 20 businesses for use by patrons.
