In 2009, Bluegrass PRIDE and LFUCG teamed up to reduce cigarette litter in Lexington. Local artists and school groups painted outdoor cigarette receptacles to make them eye-catching and increase their likelihood of being used. Once finished, the containers were placed at businesses around the city.
