Bluegrass PRIDE to Screen Environmental Film at Woodford County Library
[Lexington, Ky.] – Bluegrass PRIDE (Personal Responsibility In a Desirable Environment) has partnered with the Woodford County Library for a showing of “Here’s My Question: Where Does My Garbage Go?” on Tuesday April 19 at 6:30 p.m. at 115 North Main Street in Versailles.
The short documentary teaches children about waste reduction and recycling and will be followed by an educational activity led by Bluegrass PRIDE’s education staff. The activity, called “Luscious Landfills,” will demonstrate how landfills work and allow children to build their own using edible treats.
“This event is just the first in what will be an exciting run to celebrate Bluegrass PRIDE’s 10th anniversary,” said Amy Sohner, executive director of Bluegrass PRIDE. “We’re looking forward to working with the Woodford County Library to reach out to area children and their families and educate them on the importance of waste reduction.”
Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Bluegrass PRIDE provides resources and education to empower Central Kentuckians to foster positive environmental change in their communities. For more information please visit www.bgPRIDE.org.
