Please note that the free LED exit sign retrofit kits are only available to nonprofit organizations in Fayette County. If you are outside of Lexington, consider contacting Kentucky Lighting for information on the kits.
Through the LED exit sign giveaway program, Bluegrass PRIDE and Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government distributed over 1,000 kits Fayette County's nonprofits and churches. As a result, we were able to help them save a combined $27,432 on their utility bills and reduce their energy use by 349,758 kWh.*
*Calcualtions are based on the following data: According to ENERGY STAR, LED lamps use only 44 kWh annually and cost $4 to use per year. Incandescent bulbs on the other hand, use 350 kWh and cost $28 per year.
