[Lexington, Ky.] – Bluegrass PRIDE (Personal Responsibility In a Desirable Environment) has announced the recent addition of two staff members. Larry Durbin will serve the organization as an environmental educator, while Lauren Bennett comes on board as PRIDE’s newest program manager.
Larry Durbin joins Bluegrass PRIDE after spending more than 20 years teaching chemistry, biology, earth science and computer applications to high school students in various public school systems. As an environmental educator, he will be responsible for planning and implementing environmental lessons and activities for students in grades K-12, as well as helping schools develop and establish waste reduction and recycling programs.
Lauren Bennett comes to PRIDE after working as a marketing assistant with Alltech. As a program manager, she will be responsible for managing a $250,000 grant for litter cleanup and beautification efforts in Central Kentucky, management and promotion of PRIDE’s volunteer program, and implementation of public relations projects for the organization.
“I’m excited to add two new members to PRIDE’s staff,” said Amy Sohner, executive director of Bluegrass PRIDE. “We have a lot of confidence in Larry’s and Lauren’s ability to jump right in and help us work toward reaching Central Kentuckians of all ages.”
